Every metal fanatic encountered succumbs to the sonic synergy of Andrew Marsh (vocals/guitar), Brad Ivany (drums), and Lenny Carey (bass). Eastern Canada’s premiere blackened metal band have returned with Riverbed Empire, featuring lyrist Anabelle Iratni (Devilment) and a fretless bass contribution by Hugo Doyon-Karout (Beyond Creation, Brought by Pain). This time black metal roots are melded with progressive sensibilities; ever darker soundscapes juxtaposed with shimmers of light. Mark Richards (art for: Primus, The Black Dahlia Murder, Pig Destroyer, and Carnifex) has been called to action to illustrate a cover inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy that personifies the natural contrast of life’s beautiful darkness.
